Like most children in Sierra Madre, Amy Skiff grew up eagerly searching for the golden egg in the Easter-egg hunt, learning how to swim at the city’s pool, and lining up early to walk the mile and a half parade route on the fourth of July. “I really love this community; it was such a safe place to grow up. We could go into town or to the park, and our parents didn’t have to worry about us.” So when Amy married her husband Tony, it was only natural that they would choose to live in the town where she grew up.
After graduating from Flintridge Prep, Skiff went on to Oregon State University, where she graduated as a Registered Dietician. For the past six years, she practiced her trade, helping hundreds of people lead happier, healthier lives. However, Amy, whose mother has been in Real Estate for over twenty years, decided to join the family business. “All of my friends were starting to look for houses, so I would refer them to my mom. It was happening so often that she told me that I should get my license…so I did.”
“It was hard to say goodbye to my long-term clients. I am going to miss being able to help change people’s lives, but I guess in a way, I’m still going to be doing that.” Having grown up in the business, Amy knew what she was getting into. Judy Skiff, her mother, has been one of the top agents at Webb-Martin for years. “I chose Webb-Martin because I really wanted to work with my mom. I also wanted to work for the office with the best name in Sierra Madre.”
The past six years as a registered dietician have taught Amy a lot: “My experience working with clients, some here in Sierra Madre, has provided me with the ability to care for each of my client’s needs. Furthermore, as a lifelong resident, Amy has extensive knowledge of the foothills and surrounding communities, which she is thrilled to share with her clients.
Amy is also thrilled to announce that she is pregnant with her first child! “I’m so excited, and happy, but nervous about the unknown territory, but giddy with the anticipation, all at the same time…” And so Amy will get to raise her baby boy in the same safe community where she was raised. And one day he will walk in the parade, and take swimming lessons at the pool, and scramble with the rest of the kids after the golden egg. And maybe one day he’ll follow in his mother’s footsteps and be a third generation realtor at Webb-Martin. A mom can only hope.
Webb-Martin Realtors is very happy to have Amy on board wishes her the best of luck in the future.
